Who we are…
We are a beach-based, ocean-loving, spirit-filled Christian community in Polzeath, on the north Coast of Cornwall, and we are looking for our next beach-side cafe manager. Our community is formed around the daily warm hospitality of our cafe, and our rhythms of prayer, worship, friendship and surfing.
Tubestation is a place of open welcome all year round, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and is a radical expression of the Methodist Church in Cornwall.
The opportunity…
You would be responsible for managing the day-to-day cafe operations, fostering a positive and spiritual environment, which provides consistent, welcoming and high standard of service for both our customers and team members. You would be an advocate of training, health & safety, customer service, and creative approaches to hospitality, ensuring a welcome to both wet-suits and wet dogs.
Time each week to be split between:
- Majority of the time will be spent working in the café, during the day, serving customers, preparing food and drink, and in overseeing staff and volunteers.
- Social media development and general publicity within the shop, in the community & online.
- Managing suppliers and facilities maintenance and expenditure
- Participation in the development and promotion of our weekly activities.
- Helping with the running of any events (including staff training) outside of our regular opening hours. You would be a hospitality host at two or three major weekend events each year – the Christian Surfers UK Gathering, and the Jesus Longboard Classic Surf Competition
You will need to be available for interview by zoom or face-to- face week commencing Feb 14th
The job will begin in April 2022
