In addition there are a couple of very exciting new projects in Fri 1st.
With the charts looking favourable for this weekend, and entries already filling up, the inaugural ‘Big Move’ Surf contest to be held at Coombesgate on Friday 1st August looks like being a great fun event. Christian Surfers UK, in partnership with Creation Fest, will be hosting this event along with the exciting European movie premier of the new surf movie ‘Walking on Water’ later on in the evening
The ‘Big Move’ surf challenge, is a maximum 32 person, surf contest to be held at the low tide break at Coombesgate, just north of Woolacombe. The event will be a knock out competition with cash prizes for the finalists, and £150 for the winner. The surfers chosen wave will count double when ‘claimed’.
If you wish to enter the contest, see link at Creationfest website at bottom of this article
We will be racing against the tide to ensure the event is completed before the sea pushes in too far. The winners will be presented with their prizes at the main stage at the ‘Creationfest’ free music and skate festival, being held 2 miles away at the top of Woolacombe Hill.
Also on the Friday evening, there will be the European movie premiere of the brand new movie called ‘Walking on Water’.
The movie invites you to come along and see the world through the eyes of two kids as they embark on the trip of a lifetime. Luke and Tyler are given the opportunity that most young surfers only dream about.
South African Cheyne Cottrell, one of the featured surfers will be at the event. He will be visiting the UK for the weekend and, as well as assisting at the surf competition, he will doing interviews at the Creation Fest site. This showing is in advance the main tour which comes to Europe later in September 2008.
The entrance to the music and skate festival is completely free with a 6,000ft2 outside skate park being built specially for the event, featuring top Skate professionals from the USA.
The next surf competition organised by Christian Surfers UK will be the very popular ‘Jesus Surf Classic’ which will be held at its traditional venue of Croyde, North Devon over the weekend of September 11th and 12th.
