      Nailsea Skate Festival

Celebrate the start of the Summer holidays, with the Nailsea Community Skate Festival

To mark the start of the summer holidays, the Nailsea Community Skate Festival this year will be held on Saturday the 24th of July. Itís an extremely popular event which is now entering its eighth year and once again we thank all those involved in the organisation and sponsoring of this. The event is organised by Holy Trinity and Trendlewood churches in partnership with Christian Surfers UK and is supported by Nailsea Town Council, Nailsea Chamber of Trade and other key community bodies within the town.

As well as this years top class skate competition which will be taking place at Nailsea Scotch Horn Park, there will also be other community attractions such as face painting, volley ball, live music, and various refreshment options from BBQ to pancakes. If youíre interested in getting an application form in advance, please email phil@christiansurfers.co.uk or for those people who have previously been involved, you should be getting an entry form directly via email or in the post.

Once again this year we are looking to expand the event further with the hopes of having a scooter category, if we can get the required sponsorship.

If youíd like to get involved in any form of sponsorship for this great community festival then please get in contact with Phil (E-mail address below)

The Contest starts at 2pm (Registration from 1pm) and runs through to 6pm, with the finals taking place around 5pm. Last year saw an entry of over 40 in the various categories with 300 - 400 spectators for most of the event, as they enjoyed a beautiful warm summerís day.

In order to encourage the younger age group to get involved, there are also categories for 12ís and under in both Skateboarding and Rollerblading events. With great prizes, and entry costs of £1 or £2 depending on age group, there should be a strong turn out again this year.

We are looking forward to a great weekend where the local youngsters can perform to a very appreciative crowd, showcase their skills, and highlight a great positive example of youth activity in the town.

More details and entry forms will be available nearer the time. Contact Phil Williams on phil@christiansurfers.co.uk if you need more information, or keep checking the website http://skate.tubeclothing.co.uk  for all the latest news.
