20th Jesus Surf Classic - Officially postponed until Oct 13th & 14th
6th September 2012
Tough call to postpone the 20th Jesus Surf Classic
If you are anything like me you have no doubt been looking at the charts for the last week or so for this weekend's 20th anniversary Jesus surf classic.
After much deliberation and advice as well as prayers we have decided to postpone the event until the weekend of October 13th - 14th.
The reality is we believe there will be no real contestable surf on Saturday, and at best perhaps the chance of finishing a couple of categories on Sunday, however we want to make the 20th, a celebration, and make sure everybody has the opportunity to feel part of this event, and to be able to surf in contestable conditions throughout, which we believe will not be the case this weekend.
If you have booked camping or caravans at Croyde Ruda/Parkdean, they will honour that, and change your booking to the October date, please ring and direct on (01271) 890671 providing you let them know in the next 24 hours
We wanted to let you know as soon as possible for your planning purposes, so whilst inconvenient for all the Christian Surfers volunteers etc we decided to make the call for surfing reasons. If you cannot make the revised date (we do not believe we are clashing with anything else) let me know if you would like your money refunded, ideally in the next two weeks
We plan to hold the October event with the full infrastructure, Marquee and skate Park, and one or two other surprises that we have been working on.

The week before the Jesus Surf Classic we will also be holding the Jesus Longboard classic at Polzeath, so we are looking at organising a week with numerous events taking place. Thanks again for your understanding, as you can appreciate this was not an easy call, but we want you, the surfers, to have the best possible opportunity
Speak soon and thanks again
