Jesus Surf Classic - Updated Lunchtime Thursday 10th Sep
10th September 2009
At last summer has arrived, which is great news for some, but not so good for others. The charts and hence surf as you may already be aware are not looking great for this weekends 17th Jesus Surf Classic, although we believe there will be some surfable waves. So after much deliberation and consultation, as well as a good few prayers, we have decided to split the call on the event.
The Youth (U14), Cadets (U16) and Junior Girls (U18) should check in as planned at 08.30 on Saturday morning at the normal venue at North Croyde Bay car park. We will then update the communications and surfers in the remaining categories (Junior, Open, Women’s Open, and Masters) on Sat afternoon, to let them know if we will be holding these events on Sunday 13th.
If we do not hold those events this weekend, we will have an alternate weekend, which looks like being October 10th and 11th.
We have worked hard on the contest venue, so we hope once again it will have a real festival feel, with a big Marquee, refreshments, Crepes, BBQ and competitions, as well as the Skatepark.
Throughout the weekend, we will be premiering two new movies ‘Walk on Water’ and ‘Return to Nias’ on the big screen Plasma screen.
If the surf does not co-operate at times during the weekend, we will be organising other activities to keep everyone active, these will include a Volleyball tournament, Paddle Races, and of course the big move skate contest.
If you have booked camping accommodation at Ruda for this weekend, but are not using it, Parkdene have kindly agreed to swop your booking to the new date, providing you let them know, before you are due to check in.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming all competitors, family and friends to this years Jesus Surf Classic.
If you have any specific questions give Phil a ring on 07774 138143. But all latest news should be on the website.
