Report from CS Core Leaders gathering
15th March 2008
For the 9th Christian Surfers key leaders gathering, we stayed in an amazing house looking over Polzeath. So a big thanks to Martin for his provision in this. 16 of us met to chat about Christian Surfers and the way ahead, but also to give thanks for the previous year.
It was great to have fellowship, and despite Chelsea losing to Barnsley in the FA Cup, the Saturday was a real positive day with an early morning surf for some of those of us hardy enough to go in, at a blowy messy Harlyn.
We reflected on what has happened in 2007, and prayed into the coming year, once again focusing on the core groups which we believe are so important for the long-term growth of Christian Surfers.
As with any weekend, the food was great, fellowship brilliant and we were also able to take a very significant step in commissioning Cirsty De Gruchy part-time and Dave Renyard full-time, at a service at the ‘Tubestation’ on Sunday morning, where we were joined by the rest of the church. In fact, we were also joined on a Skype video conference from the mountains in France by Kris and Vanessa Lannen, and Tanya and Andreas Perch.
This year, more than ever, we will be looking for volunteers in all sorts of areas, so please keep an eye on the website for events. We are keen to involve groups, but also individuals, so please contact directly if at all interested.
Once again a great weekend, thoroughly enjoyable, great worship, fellowship, and prayer for Christian Surfers in 2008. Thanks for the input from the attendees
Please continue to pray for the leadership and trustees of Christian Surfers, especially for Dave and Cirsty as they join us, for finances, priorities and communications in their new role.
